RESOLUTION 12-26-2013 - Inspiration from Source: As we move towards a new year - I am thinking of resolution. The resolve it takes to make a future happen, not the words it takes to say it, but the physical resolve it takes to succeed.

What I specifically heard was: LIVE today as if there will be no tomorrow. To some that might sound a little threatening, but to me it just sounds right. It's what I've been trying to do for almost a year now, and it's really paying off.

This is basically how I’ve been taking on life since March 30, 2013 – when I had a sudden epiphany. I realized I had been living someone else's success and it wasn’t fitting me too well. In fact, it felt like I was carrying a whole lot of expectations all over my body that I wanted to shed. 

For me, this last year has been about defining what success really is. I realized that my success is different than many. I like doing things that are impossible. So doing the possible – not so fulfilling. It pays the bills, don’t get me wrong – but it doesn’t fulfill me. I need to keep reaching out to do impossible things, because settling for normal has been wearing me the heck on down. 

I have always counseled people not to be afraid of failure. Today I counsel, don’t be afraid of defining what your success really is. I wonder if most people are actually afraid of real success. Not necessarily of the success we’ve been taught to live, a roof, a family, a paycheck...but of internal success.. Before I can be successful, first I must learn to articulate what I want and what will truly make me happy. 

One thing I am sure of is that every time I decide what "success" looks like to me, I am about as brave a warrior as you would see on the planet. I don't stand back and wait - I charge forward and work to achieve my goal - whether it is something small like ripping down some wallpaper, or larger, like looking you in the eyes and having a real and honest conversation with you in an effort to heal the world. Whatever it is – I’m on it – and would love to share it with you.

For now - I have resolved to paint this freaking house. Today, I finish ripping down that wallpaper and start to fill in those cracks. Everybody better stay out of my way – unless you want to help. Plus I’m getting off book for scene two of the most terrifying play I’ve ever taken on... I’m feeling pretty frisky today...Namaste.
