SELF MASTERY - Inspiration from the Source: "You can strive only to master yourself and set an example of possibilities - but you don't really need to argue or debate about it." Words to live by. To each his own, right? Wish I could master this one! 

I've had a few aggressive encounters of late from people who need to tell me that I'm "wrong" or "crazy" to say that when I meditate, I hear answers and inspirational messages. I'm trying not to face palm folks - but really? Someone actually told me I was sacriligious to say I hear an inner voice - because who do I think I am, a saint? 

Well, actually, I believe we can all hear the voices if we want to. Joan of Arc wasn't a Saint because she heard voices, she was a Saint because she refused to back down and deny her voices. But let's not get all Joan of Arc about this folks - I have no interest in being a Saint...it usually doesn't end well for the Saint. I don't want to be a prophet. I just want to be. So - I write these things down - not for you - but for me.

Really, what do you care if my belief is a little different than yours? If you really have faith in yours, is it so hard to let me have faith in mine? Do you really think that playing the "hell" card is going to trump the feeling I get in my body when I meditate? The joy I feel when I hear that inner voice, or the message of peace I get that tells me just to live in this moment and love. Or, yowza, the incredible zap I got a few times when I looked into the eyes of another person and really saw someone else' spirit? 

I am trying to balance the daily life of someone who has things to do with a real desire to be a swami mommy. My goal: master myself. But I don't need to master you. I write to share because this is how I learn, by writing it down. And truly, if Hell is worse than what we've got going on down here on the planet Earth, I'm actually going to be really surprised. It's a mess right here.
