12-9-2013 - REVELS - Inspiration from Source: When someone impacts you, inspires you, loves you, take notice, revel in the experience - but do not hold on too tightly – because you very well may strangle the life out of it.

I realize now that much of my unhappiness of the past has been from trying to hold onto something wonderful and then holding my breath waiting for it to happen again. The perfect moment is ephemeral, fleeting but so powerful that we frequently choke it into submission with our ardor - just to feel its beauty for a few moments more. I now believe it is better to acknowledge the moment, love the moment, and then experience the next moment without the struggle of restriction, requirement and rules.

Similarly, as I now strive to release the good moment for fear of strangling it, I don’t want to hold onto the bad moment, for fear that it will strangle me. Why hold onto the anger of a bad fight, or a disappointing outcome, or a hurtful word? So much of my time has been wasted in holding onto painful words. Holding my breath for fear that I might say another hurtful word in response.

Yesterday my spouse turned to me and said, “thank you.” I said, “what for?” He said, “for letting go of all of the weirdness of the past and just starting over again...” I smiled and said, "you too!" ...and he said, "let's dance!" And we did.

When I release one breath, another one flows in. When I hold my breath too long, I die. So think of life as just one breath after another. You can’t take another breath until you release the one you just held.

So here's the truth - Perfect Moment, I'm talking to you: I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for you - but if you decide to join me - I'm ready for that breath too.

I love you now. Now. And now.

Namaste.
